His Chiefs face his hometown Cleveland Browns in the season opener this weekend, and his sole allegiance will be to his teammates and those high-octane Chiefs supporters for a three-hour span Sunday.

In a repeat of last year’s AFC Divisional playoff game, the Browns travel to Kansas City. The Chiefs came out on top, 22-17, and advanced to the Super Bowl. Kelce is looking forward to facing the Browns, but he’s even more thrilled to play in front of a sold-out Arrowhead Stadium for the first time since 2019.
According to USA TODAY, Kelce stated, “We’ve got the basic game plan in and we’re just ready to rock ‘n roll dude.” “I’m eager to play a significant game in front of the fans,” he says.
“I’m just excited to go out there and play, especially in front of Kansas City. Last year, we were fortunate enough to have fans. We knew it wasn’t full capacity, and it wasn’t typical of Arrowhead, but it was still thrilling to go out there and play an important game. Arrowhead, I believe, will come up and do their bit. They do it all the time.”
Kelce and the Chiefs are aiming for their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. The Chiefs are the overwhelming favorite to win the AFC and the Super Bowl, according to Vegas Insider.
Travis Kelce is proud of his origins, but he says, “I’m a Chief, baby.”
Kelce is not only looking forward to playing in front of his home crowd, but he is also prepared to face a Browns squad that has made significant progress in recent years. The Browns reached the playoffs for the first time in 17 seasons last season, finishing 11-5.
“I feel like this has even more anticipation than last year’s playoff game simply because it’s the opening game of the year.” “We did meet up in the playoffs last year,” Kelce added. Kelce grew up in a Browns uniform, but now he prefers the red and white.
He confessed, “My first jersey was a Bernie Kosar Browns shirt.” “I simply have a lot of love for my fans and family back home, but I’m a Chief, baby, and it’s Chiefs Kingdom right now.”
Kelce and the Chiefs are looking forward to the start of the season.

The NFL season in 2024 will be different from the previous one. Last season’s pandemic reduced attendance, but the NFL is back to full capacity this year.
That could give the Chiefs a boost on Sunday as they try to avenge last year’s Super Bowl defeat to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs offense couldn’t get anything going against the Buccaneers’ defense. Kelce and the Chiefs will want to prove that it was just a blip on the radar on Sunday.
He thinks the Chiefs can return to the Super Bowl if everyone on the team is on the same page.
“All we have to do now is go out there and be ourselves,” Kelce added. “Go ahead and execute; we’ll take care of the rest. I’m always up for a game of football.”
Kelce is eager to play, even if it means swapping in his old Kosar jersey for a Chiefs one.
