The Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics have been longtime rivals in the NBA. But now, it looks like they may be able to put their differences aside and work together.
The Brooklyn Nets just received an unexpected invitation to shore up their biggest need by reuniting with an old friend. Read more in detail here: brooklyn nets record.
The Brooklyn Nets don’t need any more assistance in their pursuit for an NBA championship in 2024. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, the team’s three-headed monster, are back and finally healthy. The Nets also acquired experienced depth in the form of Patty Mills and Paul Millsap this summer, as well as an NBA-ready scorer in LSU’s Cam Thomas.
Brooklyn already has a championship-caliber lineup, but it just got an unexpected invitation to fill their one remaining need: LaMarcus Aldridge.
Last season, LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement because to a serious heart issue.
The Nets were confident in their ability to win an NBA title back in March. Sean Marks, the team’s general manager, had just completed a deal for Harden, and he was also able to acquire Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge to round out the NBA’s newest superteam.
Nothing was going to be able to keep this Brooklyn squad from reaching their ultimate objective.
However, the Nets’ injuries began to pile up fast in April, with both Durant and Harden missing time. Aldridge was thrust into the starting lineup, but his success was short-lived.
On April 15, Aldridge shocked the basketball world by announcing his retirement from the league. The 36-year-old said that he had an abnormal heartbeat during his previous game against the Los Angeles Lakers, an event he characterized as “one of the scariest” of his life. His illustrious NBA career came to an end in an instant.
So he reasoned.
After being cleared to play again, LaMarcus Aldridge returns to the NBA.

The Nets and NBA fans around the nation were taken aback by Aldridge’s unexpected retirement last season. However, the most recent change in the huge man’s health is even more shocking.
Aldridge has been allowed to play basketball again, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, who tweeted on Thursday that he will return to the NBA this season. The Nets, according to Charania, are the “leaders” in terms of re-signing their old buddy.
What a remarkable comeback for Aldridge, who will now have the opportunity to rejoin perhaps the greatest team in the NBA and contend for his first career title.
An unexpected offer to help the Nets with their most pressing need
If the Nets sign LaMarcus Aldridge, Brooklyn and Los Angeles will have a total of 11 All-Stars from 2015.

From previous season to this one, the Nets’ roster has somehow improved. If Durant, Irving, and Harden can remain healthy, they’ll be the greatest three in the NBA, and Mills and Millsap are also undervalued free agents with lots of playoff experience.
The only thing that’s lacking is… A starting point
DeAndre Jordan is Brooklyn’s lone real center at the moment, and he isn’t a starting-caliber player at this stage in his career. Last season, Aldridge started five games for the Nets, giving them a competent big man who can step out and help spread the floor for their three superstars.
Bringing Aldridge back should be a no-brainer for Marks.
