To get a good understanding of the situation, it’s important to know that Ronaldo has two main agents: Jorge Mendes and Simon de Quieroz. The former runs Ronaldo’s affairs for him, while the latter is a consultant for Mendes; they represent a large number of top players in the world, and are instrumental in the transfer market. The Ronaldo-Juventus situation has been a tense one: after four years at the Juventus, Ronaldo returned to United and signed a new £300,000-a-week, four-year deal in the summer of 2018.
It’s been five years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in a world record £80m move after nine seasons with the Red Devils. After everything he’d achieved, it was hard to believe that Ronaldo would leave but that’s exactly what happened. The Madrid outfit also offered him bonuses of £30m each year, which he couldn’t turn down.

With the Boston Celtics, Robert Parish and Larry Bird won three NBA championships together. The pair put up two-thirds of what some believe to be the greatest frontcourt in NBA history (together with Kevin McHale). The 1985-86 Boston Bruins are also regarded as one of the greatest teams in history.
The Celtics won their third title in the 1980s, led by Bird, by beating the rival Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals in 1986. Parish stated why he thinks Bird is the Celtics’ “perfect leader.”
Robert Parish was rescued by the Boston Celtics by trading for him before the 1980 NBA Draft.

Before his NBA career took a turn for the better, Parish played four seasons with the Golden State Warriors. In a pre-draft trade in 1980, the Celtics acquired the 7-foot-1 center. In return for Parish and Golden State’s No. 3 selection, Boston delivered the first choice in the draft along with another first-rounder. The Celtics chose McHale with the third overall selection.
Parish, who joined up with a young Bird, had some cultural shock at initially. When Parish went to Celtics camp, things were a little different in terms of basketball training.
Parish told Sports Illustrated in 1981, “When I walked in, I was in condition for a Golden State camp, not for the Celtics.” “It was the most physically demanding and stressful experience I’d ever had, but I can’t fault the results.”
In Golden State, Parish had heard it all. He was said to be a slacker with a nasty attitude.
He said, “I heard it all – I had a terrible attitude and only played when I wanted to.” “It was even said that I was so lackadaisical that I purposefully got into foul trouble so I wouldn’t have to play.”
Larry Bird was the Boston Celtics’ “perfect leader,” according to Robert Parish.
Parish claimed that he was neither sluggish nor had a nasty attitude. It wasn’t because he changed when he became a Celtic that his game altered. It was due to the fact that he surrounded himself with superior players.
“What a reversal I’ve made, and what a difference a year makes,” she says. During his first year in Boston, Parish cracked jokes. “Moving to Boston really changed my outlook on life. Hey, I’m doing exactly what I was doing at Golden State. And forget about all that stuff about being among the Celts having a magical experience. The only thing that distinguishes me is that the team I’m on is winning, and that’s because the individuals on this squad complement my abilities.”
One of those players was Bird. He was already a leader for the Celtics in his second year. Parish admitted towards the conclusion of his career that Bird was the perfect team captain.
Parish remarked in a film released by the Boston Celtics last year to celebrate their 1986 title, “We had Larry, which was a tremendous attacking force.” “The authorities looked up to him. He was also able to generate offense for himself, as well as Kevin and me.
“I believe one of the reasons Larry was an excellent leader was because he stayed to himself. He didn’t say much. Every night, and throughout practices, he led by example.”
During their reign of terror in the 1980s, Parish and Bird worked well together.

During their time together in the 1980s, Parish and Bird formed a strong bond. From 1984 through 1986, Bird received the most of the attention, winning three MVP awards in a row. Without the large guy at his side, he knew he wouldn’t have been able to achieve as much as he did.
Bird told Sports Illustrated in 1991, “Everybody knew when we needed a basket, (Dennis Johnson) gave me the ball, and I came off a pick set by Robert, who sets the greatest pick in the world.” “I have no idea how he does it. Because it isn’t our offense, I don’t come off those picks as often anymore. But it wouldn’t have been possible for me to score half as many points if it hadn’t been for Robert.”
They won championships in 1981, 1984, and 1986 as a team. Bird was honored into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998, while Parish was inducted in 2003. They have a total of 21 NBA All-Star appearances between them. The Celtics would not have been as successful in the 1980s without Bird’s leadership and Parish’s selflessness.
