The 2024 NFL Draft has been a rollercoaster of a draft. With the first two rounds complete, there are still plenty of players left on the board that could potentially be picked up by any team.
The 2020 nfl draft order is the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. It will take place on April 25th, 2024.
When the Tennessee Titans chose Isiah Wilson 29th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, they envisioned him clearing the way for Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.
It’s all I’ve got to say about that.
Wilson, a former All-SEC offensive tackle from Georgia, was only with the Titans for one season before they abandoned up on him and his proclivity for getting into problems. The NFL, fortunately for the 6-foot-6 tackle, is a forgiving place.
For whatever reason, the Colts worked out Isaiah Wilson.

Fans can scan the NFL’s transaction wire and discover who got a workout with which club thanks to reporters’ social media addictions. Otherwise, we may not have known that Wilson, who turns 23 in February, was just called in for a tryout by the Indianapolis Colts.
In addition to tight end Ryan Izzo, wide receiver Duke Williams, and guard Adam Coon, the Colts worked out tight end Ryan Izzo, wide receiver Duke Williams, and guard Adam Coon. In three seasons with the New England Patriots, Izzo, a seventh-round selection in 2018, caught 19 passes for 313 yards and a score.
Wilson, though, is by far the most well-known of the four. The Miami Dolphins had just released him weeks after getting the young offensive tackle from the Tennessee Titans when we last heard from him. During the preseason, he didn’t play anywhere and was not tried out by any clubs.
Wilson had not been added to the active roster or the practice squad as of publishing, and we see no reason why that should change.
According to reports, one of the events that led to the #Dolphins waiving OT Isaiah Wilson was:
– He was hours late for his physical – He was late for his onboarding procedure – He didn’t show up for volunteer exercises on Thursday and Friday that he had promised to.
Team tried to help him, but now it’s time to move on.

Not every athlete is a natural starter, and not every rookie gets much playing time in his first year. It’s easy to forget that Patrick Mahomes, the standout quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, only appeared in one game as a rookie in 2017. In 2000, Tom Brady’s first snaps as a rookie were in a blowout defeat to the Detroit Lions.
That’s why, more often than not, we can’t tell whether a player will be a failure until their third season or later. Josh Rosen, the Atlanta Falcons’ backup quarterback, was drafted 10th overall in 2018 and is on his sixth club in four years. Unless anything extraordinary happens, he’ll be remembered as a flop.
All of this is significant when analyzing Wilson’s disastrous tenure with the Titans. We knew the relationship was doomed from the start of his NFL career. Wilson received a trespass notice and was subsequently arrested for DUI after attending an off-campus party for two months in the summer of 2024.
As a rookie, he played all four plays — three on offense and one on special teams — in a 45-26 win against the Colts on Nov. 29, 2024. The Titans punished him for breaching team rules, therefore he didn’t participate in the following game.
In Tennessee, there would be no Mahomes-style comeback. When he showed a lack of time management and awareness in the summer, the Titans moved him to the Dolphins, a decision the club almost immediately recognized as a mistake. Although comparing him to quarterbacks isn’t completely fair, the fact remains that he squandered every chance he had.
Wilson’s next chance may be his last one.

Unless your name is Colin Kaepernick, there seems to be a place for you in the NFL. After DUI arrests, nightclub fights, and much more terrible offenses than a lack of maturity, players have been allowed back into the league.
Let’s not forget that the NFL is a league of imitators. If one club is willing to bring Wilson in, another will eventually follow. The New York Giants may want to team him with Andrew Thomas, the fourth overall selection in 2024 who started at left tackle last season. Perhaps the New England Patriots, a team renowned for signing busts and cast-offs, will give him a chance this autumn.
Wilson is currently the greatest flop in the 2024 NFL Draft. Even if Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t pan out for the Miami Dolphins or Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah never recovers from a poor rookie season and subsequent Achilles injury, he may win the award.
But nothing in the NFL lasts forever. If a club is prepared to overlook Wilson’s stench and blemishes in order to sign him, he must make the most of the chance. He could easily retire with those four snaps and a long list of poor choices on his résumé.
