After a long and arduous wait, the 2018 PGA Championship is finally here. The Match will be the first time that two golfers who have never lost in their careers will go head-to-head in a major championship.
After a long wait, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau will finally play in The Match on Monday. The two golfers have been playing for years and perhaps we all could have seen this match coming. Read more in detail here: brooks koepka wife.
Turner Sports is interfering with The Match’s performance, which should make golf fans question whether Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have been interfering with them and the PGA Tour for the last year.
DeChambeau and Koepka have agreed to compete in the newest season of The Match, a reality television golf competition. They’ll meet at the Wynn Golf Course on the Las Vegas strip on Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. ET.
Another year, another ‘The Match’ format.

The Match started on November 23, 2018, with a one-on-one match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. On the fourth playoff hole, Mickelson won the $9 million winner-take-all prize.
On May 24, 2024, the producers added a twist to the rematch by pairing the PGA Tour players in a four-ball format. Mickelson joined up with Tom Brady, while Woods teamed up with Peyton Manning. The Woods-Manning team was able to hold on for a one-point win.
On November 27, 2024, the action was relocated to Stone Canyon in Oro Valley, Arizona. Manning and Stephen Curry were beaten 4-and-3 by Mickelson and Charles Barkley.
The most recent issue was once again a collaborative effort. Mickelson and Brady were defeated 3-and-2 by Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers at The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana.
The following tournament, scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving, will match DeChambeau against Brooks Koepka, but instead of the usual 18 holes, it will be a 12-hole affair. The banter of the three most recent events may be missing with just two contestants. The build-up to the match, on the other hand, should be intriguing.
Have Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau been teasing us?
The Match’s producers are clearly counting on Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka’s feud to draw a large television audience based on mutual animosity (ESPN compiled the definitive chronology), which began with Koepka criticizing DeChambeau’s slow pace of play at the Dubai Desert Classic in January 2019.
DeChambeau’s remarks criticizing Koepka’s appearance in ESPN The Magazine’s The Body Issue became public a year later. On Twitter, Koepka said that although he didn’t have DeChambeau’s six-pack abs, he did win four major titles.
Without mentioning DeChambeau, Koepka made a series of comments after the pandemic stoppage that seemed to be directed at him. There were also the incidents of the previous season, such as Koepka rolling his eyes as DeChambeau passed by during a post-round interview, and his egging on fans who began calling DeChambeau “Brooksie.”
Again, there was hostility between the guys, but they drew a lot of media and fan attention. This is significant since the PGA Tour launched a hefty reward program this spring. The $40 million Player Impact Program rewards ten players who are considered to have done the most to increase exposure and engagement.
At one point, DeChambeau almost acknowledged that the feud had gotten him that much closer to a paycheck.
According to ESPN, he stated at the time, “I’m pleased that there’s more discussion about me because of the PIP fund.”
Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have just won the Ryder Cup.
With the Ryder Cup on the horizon and Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka almost certain to make the US squad, captain Steve Stricker told them they needed to work together. Otherwise, they would be a pointless annoyance.
Stricker stated, “They claimed it wouldn’t be a problem, and I trust them.” “I have faith in them. It’s been put to rest, as far as I’m concerned.”
The American team thrashed Europe 19-9, and Koepka and DeChambeau were in fine form. Cameras showed the rivals shaking hands and briefly hugging minutes after the US team clinched.
There were no reported violent altercations despite how loud the sniping became over the course of two years. Meanwhile. The PGA Tour’s $40 million marketing campaign certainly paid off for Koepka and DeChambeau, and now they have a chance to do so again at The Match on Thanksgiving weekend.
We’d think they’ve played the money game as well as they’ve played golf if we didn’t know better.
