Stages 1-2: Spring training and Miami

March 13-30

Follow along as we took in some spring training games leading up the the Marlins and Cubs opening the season at Marlins Park. More details below.

Stage 3 - Tampa

Stadium No. 2 was Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Stage 4 - Atlanta

Home Run On Wheels rolled into SunTrust Park on April 2 to see the Braves host the Nationals.

Stage 5 - Charlotte

Home Run On Wheels was back in Charlotte for a day on April 4 and then saw games in Greensboro and Durham with Children's Hope Alliance

Stage 6 - Washington D.C.

Home Run On Wheels was at Nationals Park on April 8 for Pups in the Park. 

It was a chilly one. See below for more details.

Stage 7 - Baltimore

Home Run On Wheels was at Camden Yards on April 10 to see the Blue Jays face the Orioles.

Stage 8 - Philadelphia

Home Run On Wheels was in the City of Brotherly Love to see a game at Citizens Bank Park and explore the city from April 19-22. There were cheesesteaks.

Stage 9 - New York

The Home Run on Wheels trip to the Big Apple was split between April 24-26 (Yankees) and May 1-3 (Mets). We saw the Yankees beat the Twins on April 25 and then the Braves beat the Mets on May 1.

Stage 10 - Boston

In between the New York visits was a jaunt to Beantown to see a game at Fenway Park on April 28.

Stage 11 - New England

Thanks to the MLB schedule giving the Blue Jays a long homestand, Home Run On Wheels visited Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine in early May.

Stage 12 - Montreal

Home Run On Wheels began its Canada visit in Quebec and toured the former home of the Expos on May 10.

Stage 13 - Toronto

Home Run On Wheels traveled to Ontario from May 11-23 to see a game at Toronto's Rogers Centre. We saw the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays on Mother's Day.

Stage 14 - Buffalo

When you travel through Buffalo on May 23, you eat some wings and see a Bisons game.

Stage 15 - Pittsburgh

Home Run On Wheels was at PNC Park on May 25 and saw the Pirates beat the Cardinals

Stage 16 - Cleveland

Home Run On Wheels rolled into Ohio to see the White Sox and Indians play at Progressive Field on May 29. There were some Hall of Fame visits too because Cleveland rocks.

Stage 17 - Cincinnati

Home Run On Wheels was in Cincinnati from June 4-11. We saw games on June 5 and 8 and Holmes went to his second MLB game.

Stage 18 - Detroit

Home Run On Wheels is in Detroit from June 11-15. We will see a game at Comerica Park on June 13 with kids from the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan.

Stage 19 - Chicago

Home Run On Wheels blew into the Windy City on June 15 and stay through June 21 to see the Cubs and White Sox play in their respective home stadiums.

Stage 20 - Milwaukee

Home Run On Wheels was in Ron's home state of Wisconsin from June 21 to July 4 to see the Brewers three times at Miller Park. The Brewers donated 50 tickets to Anu Family Services for the June 21 game.

Stage 21 - Minneapolis

Home Run On Wheels was in the Twin Cities and Target Field on July 7-8. The Twins donated 30 tickets to Family Alternatives for the July 7 game against the Orioles.

Stage 22 - Denver

Home Run On Wheels was in Denver from July 11-14 to see the Rockies at Coors Field. This was the last visit before the All-Star break. The Rockies donated 30 tickets to Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains for the July 11 game against the Diamondbacks.

Stage 23 - Seattle

Following the All-Star break, Home Run On Wheels was in Seattle from July 19-23.

Stage 24 - San Francisco

Ron got to see his Brewers beat the Giants at AT&T Park on his birthday as Home Run On Wheels was in the San Francisco Bay Area from July 26-31.

Stage 25 - Oakland

Home Run On Wheels crossed the Bay into Oakland to visit the Coliseum on July 30 to see the A's play the Blue Jays.

Stage 26 - Los Angeles

Dodger Dogs were eaten as Home Run On Wheels visited Dodger Stadium on Aug. 1.

Stage 27 - Anaheim

Home Run On Wheels was at Angel Stadium on Aug. 6 to see the Tigers take on the Angels.

Stage 28 - San Diego

Patti celebrated her birthday in San Diego as Home Run On Wheels visited Petco Park on Aug. 10-11.

Stage 29 - Phoenix

We saw the Angels again in Phoenix as Home Run On Wheels was at Chase Field to see the Diamondbacks defend their home turf on Aug. 21.

Stage 30 - Houston

Home Run On Wheels was in Houston to see the Astros play at Minute Maid Park on Aug. 28 and on Dog Day Sept. 2.

Stage 31 - Arlington

The Dallas-Fort Worth area was our home from Sept. 3-8 as Home Run On Wheels visited Globe Life Park in Arlington on Sept. 4.

Stadium No. 29 was at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City as Home Run On Wheels visits from Sept. 10-12.

Stage 33 - St. Louis

The Home Run On Wheels 2018 MLB stadium tour ended in St. Louis at Busch Stadium. We saw games on Sept. 14, 16 and 23-25.

Stage 1 - Spring training

First Data Field in Port St. Lucie

The Home Run On Wheels baseball RV trip began in Florida for spring training. We'll see games on both Florida coasts before heading to Miami for Opening Day.

Not only is Home Run On Wheels working with Children's Hope Alliance, but Ron contributed to Sports Radio America with a pair of St. Louis Cardinals features during the first weekend of spring training.

The Cardinals have a new closer in Luke Gregerson and are optimistic entering 2018.

Ron spoke with Gregerson and Marcell Ozuna about joining the Cardinals and those interviews are included in Episode 5 of the Home Run On Wheels podcast.

Another Cardinals player, Jordan Schafer, appeared on Episode 6 of the podcast to discuss the inspiration behind his charity foundation.

A trio of Pittsburgh Pirates players — Jameson Taillon, Chad Kuhl and Josh Bell — were on Episode 7 of the Home Run On Wheels podcast and discussed 2018 expectations as well as the Pirates Caravan last December.

The Home Run On Wheels podcast also previewed the season with Hall of Fame voters Marc Lancaster and Ryan Fagan. Episode 8 was with Cardinals beat reporter Derrick Goold, who spoke of his love of travel and baseball while also previewing the NL Central.

Veteran sports writer Ron Clements and IT project manager Patti Clements are traveling the country in a Thor Windsport to see all 30 MLB stadiums.

The trip will take them through 36 states and into Canada as they bring awareness to the needs of children through their partnership with Children's Hope Alliance.
